How to use Alerts

This guide explains the Alerts tab of the Cryptowatch app.
You can set both price and volume alerts using the Cryptowatch app. Alerts set using the app will send a push notification to your device when triggered.
Any existing alerts you may have created using the Cryptowatch web interface will automatically sync with the Cryptowatch app.

How to create a new alert

There are multiple ways to set a new price or volume alert in the Cryptowatch app:

    Navigate to the Alerts tab using the panel at the bottom of the app, then tap the
    button in the top-right of the screen.
  2. 2.
    Press and hold any market in your Watchlist, then select “Create alert” from the menu that appears in the lower part of your screen.
  3. 3.
    While viewing any chart, scroll down to the Alerts section. There, either tap the
    button or the “Create” button to set a new alert.
  4. 4.
    Editing or adding alerts on the Cryptowatch web interface will automatically update your alerts in the app.

Creating a price alert

Price alerts will trigger when the price of an asset in a specific market falls or rises to your alert price. Price alerts can inform you when key price levels have been met or exceeded in a single market.
While on the “Create” alert screen:

    Select “Price” at the top of the screen.
  2. 2.
    Use the number pad to input the price your alert will trigger at.
  3. 3.
    Tap “Create alert”.
  4. 4.
    Your alert is now viewable in the Alerts tab.

Creating a volume alert

Volume alerts will trigger when the trading volume over a specified period (eg. 1 day, 1 hour) meets or exceeds the volume amount specified by you. Volume alerts can help inform you of greater-than-usual trading activity in a single market.
While on the “Create alert” screen:
  1. 1.
    Select “Volume” at the top of the screen.
  2. 2.
    Use the number pad to input the trading volume that will trigger your alert.
  3. 3.
    Tap “Create alert”.
  4. 4.
    Your alert is now viewable in the Alerts tab.

Editing an alert

You can edit your alerts to new price or volume levels before they trigger.
From the Alerts tab
Press and hold any alert in your alerts list to open a menu in the lower part of your screen. Then follow the rest of the edit instructions below.
From the Chart view
While viewing a market that you have alerts in, scroll below the chart to the Alerts section. Press and hold the alert you wish to edit. Then follow the rest of the edit instructions below.
To edit an alert:
  1. 1.
    Select “Edit” from the menu.
  2. 2.
    Use the number pad to adjust the price or volume level.
  3. 3.
    Tap the “Edit Alert” button.
  4. 4.
    Your alert will appear in the Alerts tab with the new trigger level.

Deleting an alert

You can delete alerts in the Alerts tab, or from the alerts section of the chart view.
  1. 1.
    Press and hold the alert you wish to delete.
  2. 2.
    Select “Delete” from the menu.
  3. 3.
    The alert is removed from your active alerts.

Viewing triggered alerts

Triggered alerts are listed in the Alerts tab. At the top-left of the screen, select “Triggered”. A list of all triggered alerts will appear, in chronological order. The most recent triggered alerts are at the top.
The market, exchange, alert parameters, and time since the alert triggered are detailed in this list.
